Hi! My name is Deborah, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, complex trauma, parenting, autism, bipolar disorder, and more. I aim to create a safe environment and build a trusting, nourishing relationship where you can start your journey of healing and growth.
My approach
I work from a strength-based therapeutic approach that is tailored to the needs of my clients. I use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based intervention, spirituality, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused CBT. Regardless of the modality, my approach is always trauma-informed and strengths-based
My focus
I work with children, adolescents, and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, complex trauma, parenting, autism, bipolar disorder, behavioral challenges, and more. I am committed to providing support for families caring for children with various medical and cognitive challenges as they navigate through life changes.
My communication style
My style is a gentle, supportive, and non-judgmental approach. I want to create a safe place and build a trusting relationship where individuals can process and heal as they develop new confidence in their abilities to overcome life challenges.
My journey to mental healthcare
When I was young, I volunteered for several programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health concerns. I loved it and then watched individuals I knew go through traumatic events, and the help provided was invaluable to their healing. I decided at that time that this was the work I wanted to do for the rest of my career. I am driven to provide the same compassionate services to help others find healing.
My goals for you
Setting goals is a collaborative effort based on individual strengths and identified methods to assist you in meeting those goals. My clients are the “expert” on their life and their goals are person centered and individualized.
My first session with you
There is great strength in your decision to come to therapy. Our first session together we will discuss questions you have about therapy. The focus is on building an initial connection and support so you can begin to feel safe as you share your story. We will then move forward to setting some goals for our time together.
