My name is Miguel A. De La Fuente. I am a veteran and have been a fitness/life coach for over 20 years. I previously worked at a Behavioral Hospital and recently opened my practice. My practice includes fitness training and life coaching. As a Hispanic male veteran, I understand the stigma and the cultural sensitivity that is needed to provide support to all individuals.
My approach
My approach is eclectic; hence, it combines cognitive-behavioral, spiritual, psychodynamic, and positive psychology. I can adapt to any form of counseling and treatment required by the patient or client to meet your specific needs and unique obstacle. Lastly, I am currently finishing my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Hence, I am constantly learning new ways to improve my skills and knowledge and attain more tools to serve my patients and clients better.
My focus
I have experience working with clients struggling with most mental health obstacles. These topics include Bipolar, borderline, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. As well as relationships, career guidance, and life struggles/changes. I have worked closely with adults 18 to 40 years old of all ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
My communication style
I am a Christian and follow Christian principles. Therefore, I believe in treating all individuals with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My counseling style is assertive and direct but empathic and compassionate all at once. My approach is eclectic.
