Christopher Burke, LMHC: For decades now, I have been helping people recover from addiction along with those who, seemingly, had a hopeless and helpless state of mind. If you are struggling with addiction stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, abuse, PTSD, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, or just being stuck, there are answers. Those answers can come in the form of universal truths, principles, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and Spirituality. My approach
There are certain elements necessary in therapy in order to maintain a space of positivity, growth, and healing. That is the job of the therapist — my job. It is imperative that I maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening, direct, and retrospective.
My focus
My guess is that getting started can be pretty scary — to talk to someone you do not know about things that make you uncomfortable, sad, angry, or embarrassed — but I would like to reassure you that this process is here to help you grow and lead you to a more meaningful and purposeful life.
My communication style
My first job is to have you get comfortable by building rapport. By being direct that rapport turns into a therapeutic alliance that promotes positive change in your life.
