Hi, I'm Trish Demasky, LCSW, and am licensed to practice in Florida and Maine. I have a holistic, client-centered approach to care in my practice. My focus is on gender issues, those with PTSD, trauma, adolescent, teens, and family issues.
My approach
My therapeutic approach consists of client-centered, which means that YOU, the client lead the way in therapy. Therapy is a journey, and together, we will figure out what works best for you. I am trained in EMDR, polyvagal theory, and employ numerous therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, Solutions focused, and DBT.
My focus
My client base consists mostly of those with a trauma history, and those suffering from PTSD, gender dysphoria, and family issues. I am rostered as a child-parent psychotherapist and can work with children and their families who have suffered some type of trauma.
My communication style
I am open, and clients find me easy to talk to. Having good rapport is important to our relationship and this process is different for each person.
My journey to mental healthcare
Being a therapist is a second career for me. My first career was as a professional artist. I did a lot of work in the community which segued into my becoming a therapist. I feel that my art career is a benefit as I can find workable solutions by thinking outside of the box.
My goals for you
In goal setting, the client will lead the way. This is YOUR time and the therapy hour is all about you. Together, we will find which goals will meet your needs.
My first session with you
Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and what you would like to get out of therapy. Some people want to spend time building rapport, and others are more comfortable diving right in: whatever your preference, I am there for you!
