Hi there, I'm Brittany!

I specialize in treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and transitions in life, by meeting you where you are at and together, working to create an individualized plan which includes strategies to best provide care for yourself. In our work together, I strive to provide a safe space with care, empathy, and tools that will best meet and address the needs of what you are experiencing including managing intrusive thoughts, self-worth, panic attacks, and other thoughts and behaviors that are impacting your well-being. I work to provide a person-centered, open space, with the use of humor and curiosity to explore and heal the parts of you that are hurting. I hope to give you a place where you find peace and the tools to begin understanding your thoughts and emotions. Together, we will work to challenge unwanted thoughts, guilt, and other behaviors as well as discover their purpose. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have worked in community mental health and hospitals for over 7 years, with a particular focus on chronic mental health challenges, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, adjustment challenges, and trauma. I understand each person comes with their own experience related to mental health and I work to utilize different approaches depending on the person’s needs and style. I utilize an eclectic mix of cognitive therapies and strive to incorporate a person-centered and strengths-based lens.

My approach

I approach psychotherapy with a treatment to fit the needs of each individual by using your strengths, experience, and perspective to guide the session. I like to check in with each person and find out their best style and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based DBT, and person-centered modalities.

My focus

Besides the specialties listed, I would like to work with someone who is open to therapy and the change that comes with it is ready to create goals and is open to growth.

My communication style

My communication style is empathetic, warm, and open. I keep an open mind and face and love to work with humor, care, and thoroughness in our work together.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to therapy through work in hospital settings, where I learned that we all benefit from working on parts of ourselves that we may not understand, that are hurting or just to speak to someone.

My goals for you

Progress looks like management of symptoms/symptom reduction, reporting satisfaction in areas of life, lessening medical visits due to mental health, excitement in change, and feedback from friends/family/self that things are going better.

My first session with you

Clients can expect a thorough assessment during the first session to figure out their style. If clients prefer worksheets between sessions we can incorporate that, if clients are looking for a space to talk with effective support we can do that as well. Sessions will be unique to each person. Once we have the initial appointment, we will create goals and expectations and will check in every few weeks on progress. I am always open to feedback to create sessions that are the most supportive to a client.
