I am Jenna McKean, a licensed mental health counselor, certified substance abuse counselor, licensed professional counselor, and certified DBT skills counselor. I am nationally certified as a national mental health clinician and national counselor by the national board of certified counselors. I provide counseling for adolescents, early adults, adults, and families. I individually tailor each client's needs to a specific treatment plan. I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort between clinician and client.
My approach
I incorporate a variety of treatment techniques into each session which includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and self-exploration techniques.
My focus
I work with a variety of stressors such as depression, anxiety, life adjustments/stressors, self-esteem issues, work steam family conflicts, behavioral issues with children, ADHD, postpartum and postpartum anxiety, and depression. I also work with fertility challenges with individuals and couples.
My communication style
I provide a comfortable, open and safe setting where my clients are able, to be honest, supported, and empowered. I strive to understand each client's unique needs. I am truly committed to helping each client make positive changes in their lives.
My journey to mental healthcare
This is a wonderful question! I can honestly say that therapy requires a lot of trust. Watching clients grow, open up, and share their deepest struggles motivates me to continue to do this work. I am grateful for all the clients I have worked with.
My goals for you
Attaining goals is a collaborative effort between the clinician and the client. We will build a roadmap of your goals together. These goals will have objectives, interventions, and support to achieve your goals.
My first session with you
A positive interaction that is empathetic, compassionate, empowering, and refreshing!
