Hi! I am Marissa Wright, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with six years of clinical experience working in addictions and mental health counseling. I have worked with adults of all ages in both individual and group counseling settings and would be honored to work with you throughout your journey of self-exploration and self-improvement.
My approach
My therapeutic approach combines a variety of modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, and Rational-Emotive Therapy techniques. Using a person-centered, strengths-based approach, I aim to utilize my professional skills to help you achieve your therapeutic goals. I believe in working collaboratively with you to determine which interventions will work most effectively to meet your unique and specific needs.
My focus
I am only accepting female clientele at this time. I specialize in areas such as addiction, alcohol use, anxiety, bipolar disorder, codependency, coping skills, depression, dual diagnosis, emotional disturbance, job stress, life transitions, mood disorders, panic attacks, peer relationships, relapse prevention, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, substance use, weight loss, and women's issues.
My communication style
My counseling style is pretty laid-back overall. I believe in treating all clients with respect and cultivating a safe space free of judgments. Former clients have described me as being warm, calming, patient, and empathetic, and I will always do my best to make you feel at ease.
My journey to mental healthcare
I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. From September 2016 to February 2021, I completed my clinical hours for licensure at Endeavor Health Services in Cheektowaga, NY.
