We all experience periods in our life in which we may not have all the answers or make the right choices. At times we may also feel that no one can understand or relate to us due to our individual differences. My diverse background and resiliency have assisted in my ability to relate to individuals regardless of their socioeconomic status.
My approach
I believe a key component of therapeutic relationships is the establishment of rapport and creating trust between the counselor and the client while maintaining professional boundaries. Some of my areas of training include Substance Abuse, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Family Therapy.
My focus
Clients served include adolescents, children, adults, couples, and the LGBTQ population. Some of my areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, grief/loss, ADD, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and family therapy.
My communication style
As an extrovert, my behaviors and style of communication affirm my belief in establishing rapport and creating trust with clients. I consider helping others in the area of mental health my passion and purpose.
My journey to mental healthcare
My decision to become a mental health provider was greatly influenced by my past experiences in dealing with similar issues. I found it to be difficult to find a relatable therapist that I could learn to trust and openly share my feelings.
