My communication style

I prefer to listen and let my patient do the talking. My patients tend to leave my office saying, "I feel better just talking it through."

My journey to mental healthcare

In school, I was always the impromptu therapist. As an adult, I was still the person my friends would come to for a shoulder to cry on or an ear to bend. When I found myself going nowhere for a career, I returned to college and became a nurse. By that time, I already knew mental health was where my passion was.

My goals for you

I have the patient list their goal, and we will break it down either into smaller steps or a timeframe.

Our first session

To go over history. What do their symptoms feel like, how does it affect them, any past treatment (medication, counseling, etc), medical history, and family history? It feels like a lot because it is a lot, but it helps me get a good idea of anything that might be hiding or causing issues.
