Hi there, I'm Abigail!

My approach is to listen to your current concern and work on that issue from a variety of approaches. I integrate mind, body, and spirit in my work. I also work with grief and adjustment to new diagnoses.

My focus

I prefer to work with adults who are experiencing anxiety and depression. I also help with adjustment to changes in life circumstances.

My approach

I use an eclectic approach that tries to integrate the whole person (mind, body, and spirit). I am very person-centered and functional. I believe that you are in charge and determine the frequency of visits and how often you wish to practice techniques introduced in sessions.

My communication style

I let you lead where you would like to go in terms of what you want addressed during the session. I find that discussing what is most pressing at the time allows you to feel that you are heard and valued.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always felt called to work with people. I became a teacher and then a counselor. I later became a psychologist. Finding that I wanted to do more, I completed my degree in Divinity, working as a pastoral psychologist and chaplain.

My goals for you

I ask you what you would like to accomplish in therapy and then reevaluate that goal after each session. I will re-frame what I think may be happening by clarifying what I hear.

Our first session

I will ask you what brought you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish. I may seek some information about any earlier therapeutic involvement and what you learned from it, so I am not repeating what has not worked for you.
