My communication style

I like to balance my sessions with seriousness and humor as needed. Although I want my sessions to feel like you're talking to a trusted friend, I recognize that as a therapist, I may need to be more direct than a friend. I believe in direct and open communication.

My journey to mental healthcare

I wanted to be a social worker to improve financial literacy; however, I realized that emotions and how people think are largely connected to their mental health. I found working with very ill patients, helping both the patients and their families cope with their medical conditions, was rewarding.

My goals for you

I like to discuss goals during my first session with a client and, as therapy progresses, check in if that remains the goal that feels right with the client. Although I do not believe in changing goals several times throughout therapy, I do recognize that a presenting problem for coming into therapy might not be the actual root of the issues.

Our first session

In the first session, we will discuss what the client hopes to get out of therapy, their goal for our work together, and what their experience with therapy has been. I want to get to know them and hear what has brought them to my practice.
