My communication style

My communication style is open, grounded in active listening, and consistently non-judgmental. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for meaningful change, and I work collaboratively with clients, meeting them where they are and moving at a pace that feels comfortable and realistic.

My journey to mental healthcare

I began my career as an alcohol and drug counselor, which sparked my long-standing interest in helping individuals struggling with both substance use and mental health concerns. Wanting to deepen my clinical skills, I returned to graduate school and earned my degree from the School of Social Work.

My goals for you

When it comes to goal setting, I believe strongly in starting where the client is and honoring self-determination. Goals are based on what the client identifies as important, and I help clients shape those goals into realistic and attainable objectives using a step-by-step approach.

Our first session

In a first session, clients can expect a relaxed, conversational approach focused on getting to know one another. Typically, we spend about the first 30 minutes in open discussion about what brings the client to therapy and what concerns they would like to address. I also completed a psychosocial assessment.
