My approach in working with clients is to understand what issues are of concern and then strategize a plan to address those concerns.

I work with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, substance use and relationship issues including family dynamics with an understanding that everyone is a product of their own environment.

My approach is client-centered, appreciating everyone is unique in their own life experience. It's important to understand the context in which these issues occur whether it be family, work or social life and how these issues have impact. My approach is to work together with my clients in devising a workable and achievable solution.

My communication style is direct feedback, and self-reflection by clients. My personality is warm and compassionate with a healthy dose of humor when appropriate.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always been a comforter by nature. Early in my career I worked with children, I later trained at one of the premier institutes for the study of family and systems therapy. I have also worked for many years in an inpatient mental health facility.

My goals for you

I utilize goal setting in conjunction with my clients. Sometimes small changes can have a larger impact than one might imagine.

Our initial session will basically be an introduction to me as your therapist as well as understanding your own concerns and what you hope to achieve from our work together.
