My communication style

Direct and warm. You won't get reflective paraphrasing that sounds supportive while saying nothing. If I think you're telling yourself a story that's keeping you stuck, I'll say so - kindly, but clearly. I take what you say seriously. I take what you mean seriously even more.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist the way many do: I needed one first. As a teenager, I found clinicians who genuinely listened and changed my life. I've spent 40 years trying to return that favor. What keeps me going isn't the easy sessions. It's watching someone who walked in convinced they're unfixable realize they aren't.

My goals for you

Goals evolve. People come to fix their marriage and discover they don't know who they are. We'll start with what you actually want - not what you think you should want. Then we build toward it and adjust when life intervenes. Therapy isn't linear. Neither is real life. We'll work with both.

Our first session

We're both evaluating fit - whether my style works for you, whether I think I can help. I'll ask questions. You'll answer some honestly and dodge others. Completely normal. By the end, you'll know what working together looks like and whether it's worth trying. Come as you are. We'll sort it out.
