I see clients who like approaches that are mixed between some processing and some solution-focused, goal-oriented styles.

My focus

I consider myself a generalist. Clients who are struggling with perinatal issues (pregnancy, pregnancy loss, infertility, postpartum mood/anxiety), general anxiety issues, depression, grief/loss, immigration/assimilation issues, and gender identity issues are some of the areas that I have experience treating and would be happy to help.

My approach

As a therapist, I like to get to know my clients before we start getting into intervention. Starting treatment with me, we might spend a session on intake, and the second session talking about goals for treatment. In the meantime, I want to get to know you beyond the symptoms that you are struggling with.

My communication style

Therapy is a collaborative effort. I want to help you with clinical expertise, but you are the expert in your life. Together, we can figure out goals for treatment in a safe and supportive environment.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I learned of the field of psychotherapy, I was fascinated. I have always felt honored that my clients would share a part of their lives with me, which is so private. In return, I want to help my clients to the best of my ability to reach their treatment goals.

My goals for you

I usually talk about goal setting in the session after the initial intake. I see goal setting as a way for my clients to tell me what they need from me and from therapy. The goal-setting discussion usually helps me understand my clients better because it helps me understand what they want out of therapy and treatment.

Our first session

During the first session, I do an intake, which means that I ask a lot of questions. I may also review some of the incomplete forms and questionnaires and remind you to complete them. We may also review confidentiality and its limits, as well as telehealth requirements.
