Lara has a gift of therapeutic know-how. She has a kind of gentle but laser focused ability to get to the heart of matters quickly so that relief can be felt during the first visit. She presents herself as a 'human' just like the rest of us and offers a warm and supportive but direct and realistic approach to her care. She is incredibly bright with a slew of resources at the ready to share. Lara doesn't push too much nor does she ever pry when not invited, but she is quite capable of asking questions to wiggle out the tougher, deeper issues. I got lucky finding Lara on my first go with Path. She's a gem and a keeper, and I'm happy to recommend her.
VERIFIED PATIENT TESTIMONIAL

Hi there, I'm Lara!

I am a native Californian and an early Licensee, #MFT 12475. From my teens, people "talked" to me, and sometimes the things they shared were disturbing, so I knew I needed training to handle the sometimes intense material. Having struggled with anxiety and depression myself, I empathize with those who suffer from it.

My focus

I work with adults of all genders who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addictions. Respectful inquiry helps identify where change might occur. Self-understanding may create change, and trauma-releasing techniques can help get at veiled material. Helping people feel progressively better is the goal during and after therapy.

My approach

My own therapy increased my dedication to helping others. Talking it out can be helpful in itself. Specialized treatment methods can be gentle (meditation or hypnosis), or more intense as EMDR and EFT. Unpleasant triggered emotions typically give way when addressed with these therapies, allowing a rapid resolution of emotional discomfort.
