Hi there, I'm Esmeralda!

I provide counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families using an eclectic approach to therapy in helping people heal and live to their highest potential.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for clients who are struggling in an area of their life functioning, including academic, social, relational, or personal. I am especially passionate about teaching caregivers parenting skills to help in raising young children and adolescents in order to enjoy being a parent.

My approach

My approach is based on the needs of the individual I am working with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy with clients to assist them in attaining their goals while using a strength-based and culturally humble approach.

My communication style

I am a good listener and pride myself on taking a culturally humble approach to my clients. I allow myself to learn from them and believe that each client is the expert of their life experiences. I encourage and welcome feedback to ensure each individual receives the treatment that is most fitting and effective.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am passionate about helping others and believe that life stressors can stem from ambivalence to seek help. I believe our experiences shape who we are and at times hinder us from becoming our best selves. Through self-reflection and exploration, we can break those barriers.

My goals for you

My approach to treatment goal setting is collaborative. I work with clients to identify their desired outcomes and exam goals consistently throughout treatment to ensure each client's needs are met.

Our first session

What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about your feelings and motivation to seek treatment. I will ask questions to understand what you would like to see change in your life and current situation. Each individual is unique and has different expectations of treatment.
