I help people move successfully through life transitions by identifying goals, reflecting on values, and developing strategies to live the life they want. I specialize in phase-of-life challenges, relationship difficulties, work performance, and feeling stuck. I work with African Americans and can integrate Christian faith into therapy.

My approach

I practice brief solution-focused therapy in an intensive format of 6-8 sessions. This includes an in-depth assessment and a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. You can expect weekly challenges to work on between sessions. I can integrate Christian faith when requested and have expertise working with African Americans.

My communication style

Clients often say, "I feel like you really get me" and "I know you are listening." I see a small number of clients so I can focus deeply on our work together. I reflect back what you're saying and ask open questions to help you clarify what you want. I use humor to make you comfortable but don't shy away from hard questions.

My journey to mental healthcare

My career started in community mental health working with adults struggling with severe mental and emotional problems. My passion for helping those who are hurting has kept me in this profession. I believe my role is to walk alongside you briefly to help you reclaim your life. Therapy doesn't have to be long-term to be effective.

All of our work together is goal-oriented. In the first session, we'll identify what you want out of life and what challenge you're ready to tackle. Each session focuses on moving you closer to your values and goals. Whether it's a healthier relationship or feeling more fulfilled at work, your goal becomes our roadmap.

I'll ask questions to get to know you and identify what you want out of life. You'll get a sense of my personality and style so we can establish rapport. I'll gather information to develop a customized treatment plan that will be the roadmap for the next six sessions.
