Hi there, I'm Javarri!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I come in the spirit of collaboration, empowerment, and evidenced-based clinical practice. I believe that the client is the foremost leading expert of their life. My role is to hold space for clients to improve their lives according to their measure. Your feedback is truly valued.

My focus

From a therapeutic perspective, I believe in meeting the person where they are. We address the client's chief concerns in a collaborative and systematic way. We can work on issues that cause clinically significant impairment stemming from stressors, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma, low-self esteem, depression and/or psychosis.

My approach

I approach treatment from a cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and cognitive behavior therapy for psychosis (CBTp) framework. Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a widely researched evidenced-based practice that has proven efficacious. CBT focuses on current challenges by understanding the relationship between thoughts, feeling, and behaviors.

My communication style

My communication style is empathetic and warm. I utilize curious inquiry to non-judgmentally explore topics with clients to better understand their style of communication, history, perception of themselves, others, the world, and their future.

My journey to mental healthcare

At some point or another we can all use support, assistance, and unconditional positive regard. Some of my most impactful discoveries in life came from incredible providers who helped me navigate challenging times.

My goals for you

The client and I collaboratively set goals based on their chief concern(s). Goal setting is realistic, time-sensitive, and open to modification if needed. We track progress by utilizing information based on the client's self report, clinical observation, and other metrics related to the goal.

Our first session

Our first session will be centered around introduction and understanding what brings you to therapy. Understanding what is most important to you and what are your expectations from therapy. Explain and explore what my role in your journey looks like. Discussion about the benefits and risk of therapy. Lastly, determine if I'm a good fit to help.
