My approach

In my therapy practice, I utilize a client-centered approach; I need to meet the client where they are. Typically, this will also include cognitive-behavioral techniques to better understand and navigate difficult situations.

My communication style

I need to create a safe, comfortable space for my clients. I typically utilize a more non-traditional approach, allowing my clients to be themselves. The environment is not particularly formal, and I like to meet the client where they are.

Our first session

The first session is important to build rapport and for me to better understand a client's needs; anything a client feels will be helpful for me to know, and they should feel comfortable sharing. I may ask a variety of questions, but the client is also welcome to steer the session towards what they are specifically in need of.
