My approach to therapy helps you establish, maintain, and improve relationships. I help you develop positive coping skills that fit your lifestyle while promoting your decision-making and facilitating your potential. My areas of focus are anxiety disorders, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

I have been working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I bring experience from diverse settings including institutional, clinical, and educational environments.

My approach

My approach is based on a humanistic model of unconditional positive regard, a concept from Rogerian psychotherapy, which is the practice of showing nonjudgmental acceptance and warmth towards therapy clients. I also have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

My communication style

My approach to therapy is to create an environment where you feel safe and accepted. My focus is on you and your needs and goals. I am a firm believer in empathy and promoting introspection.

My journey to mental healthcare

My personal journey to becoming a therapist started after I left the military. As a veteran, I have personal experience with the challenges of post-traumatic stress disorder. It was my experience working with a therapist that led me to the field of psychology and to become a therapist.

Setting goals in therapy is essential in creating a successful plan when it comes to making positive and substantial changes in your life. Promoting positive change must include effective coping skills that you can utilize to achieve your goals.

Our first session

Simply put, the first part of therapy is getting to know one another. This is done by asking questions and why you're seeking therapy. Most importantly, establishing goals and a better understanding of what you want to achieve during your time in therapy.
