My focus

I work with motivated clients who have often been misdiagnosed and misunderstood. I work with a wide age range and the majority of my practice has been with OCD, anxiety, and depressive issues. As a veteran, I'm also well-versed in PTSD and its various presentations.

My approach

I'm well trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in both adult and child therapy. I use psychodynamic understanding as well as additional training in the genetic underpinnings of many behavioral disorders.

My communication style

I use a common sense problem-solving approach. First is a comprehensive history to really understand and develop a treatment plan that is individually tailored to your needs. I don't use a cookie-cutter approach. I create a friendly and warm environment to really work on getting things done.

My journey to mental healthcare

I began my training in the Navy as a Neuropsychiatric Technician working with both Neurology and Psychiatry and it meshed with me. I went on to graduate training then advanced training. I have never let up with ongoing training to expand my knowledge base!

My goals for you

Goals can only be developed after a thorough comprehensive history and an understanding of treatment direction is made. Once this is accomplished then we proceed with defining the problem, goals, and objectives follow.

Our first session

Usually, you will have provided a comprehensive history before I see you the first time. During the first meeting, we'll establish a rapport to see if this is a good fit and sometimes it isn't as feeling comfortable with each other is crucial.
