My journey to mental healthcare

My personal experience in treatment has shaped my work as a therapist. I understand how stubborn problems can become because I have experienced this battle myself. My early experiences as a client helped formulate the firm position that every story is complex and that there are no simple conclusions.

My goals for you

My treatment style is collaborative and curious. When it comes to your life, I believe that you are the expert. I say this because I honestly do not know more about you than you do. Change doesn’t come in a neat, linear package. There will be setbacks and frustrations. Progress might feel slow, but I can appreciate your tiny strides toward change.

Our first session

In the first session, clients will have the opportunity to share what brought them into the therapeutic space. I will be asking questions to illuminate both the problems at hand and the resiliency and resourcefulness. I will reflect back to make sure that I understand their hopes for our work together.
