"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul." - William Henley. People want to feel in control. But, when people experience internal or external change, and resist such, they can feel a loss of control.

My focus

I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and inpatient; and with a variety of populations. Presently, I specialize in adolescents and adults experiencing depressive, anxiety, or personality symptoms.

My approach

I use Psychodynamic therapy to identify subconscious thoughts and feelings, CBT to challenged irrational thoughts and feelings, and Existential therapy to redefine the meaning of past or present experiences.

My communication style

My communication is focused on thoughtful, honest, and compassionate feedback. Furthermore, I like to engage in back-and-forth discussion.

My journey to mental healthcare

For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in understanding people. I like using this understanding to help people. For me, it is deeply satisfying to see people resolve their issues and free themselves.

In the first session, my focus is understanding why a person wants to do therapy. Once I know that, I generally know whether or not I can help them.
