Hi there, I'm Cathleen!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) in Colorado with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with a wide variety of clients throughout my career, including those struggling with parenting concerns, those diagnosed with a mental illness, and those facing incarceration.

I work with clients of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, life changes, parenting concerns, substance addiction, and mental illness.

My approach

I believe that you are the expert on you. I will walk alongside you as you embark on this journey of change. I see the role of a counselor as encouraging and empowering you towards change. I will offer you tools and a listening ear, ask you questions, and challenge your thinking patterns.

We work together to help you towards your goal. I listen, ask questions, and make you think. I like to be open and real in our conversations with each other. I want to see you succeed in your goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have worked in the mental health field in one capacity or another since I was 20 years old. I didn't always know that I wanted to be a therapist when I grew up; in fact, I started my undergraduate studies majoring in elementary education!

My goals for you

We will talk about what you want to work on and what you are hoping to get out of our time together. We will use those answers to create realistic goals for us to be working towards. We will also check in periodically to ensure we are working on what you want during our session time.

Our first session

The first session can feel scary to walk into. A first session with me involves a lot of questions. I like to take the time to get to know you and what has brought you to the point of reaching out for extra support. At the end, we will explore what you want to work on and set some goals.
