Hi there, I'm Lyn!

I am dual-licenced as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Substance Abuse/Addiction Therapist. I have been working as a counselor for the past 29 years. My work focuses on a variety of issues: addiction, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and gender identity, just to name a few.

My focus

Addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders have been my focus throughout my career. I am comfortable working with adolescents or adults, both male and female, and I tailor my approach to meet each person where they are.

My approach

I offer therapy using a variety of treatment modalities, I specialize in EMDR, (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and (DBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure Therapy.

My communication style

I would describe my communication style as I provide a safe and calm environment for my clients. Building trust is my highest priority.

My journey to mental healthcare

Influenced by my own therapy and coming from a long family history of addiction, I was naturally attracted to the mental health field. I want to teach others that they can overcome and get through whatever life throws at them.

My goals for you

I start by asking clients what their overall goal really is. Identifying a starting point is next. Helping your clients face and understand exactly where they are in terms of this goal is a good place to start. They must be honest with themselves as well by examining where things currently stand.

Our first session

Starting therapy is similar to starting with a new doctor. My initial meeting is used to collect information on your history, to find out what you believe the problem to be, and to help you identify your short-term and long-term goals.
