My name is Dee Demers. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of CT with 29 years of experience. My basic approach is holistic and eclectic. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My focus areas of practice are mental health, self-esteem/self-image, life transitions, teens, young adults, and older adults on the micro level.
My focus
I work with adolescents, teens, young adults, and young mothers struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-identity, self-esteem, bullying, violence, poverty, and life adjustments. I help clients tap into their powers and resilience, working towards competency that will remain with them throughout their lives.
My approach
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice along with Social Learning Theory, Developmental Theories, Integrated Mind, Body, Spirit Theory, which provides a truly holistic approach to the work my clients and I do, Humanistic Theory, Strength-Based Approach, Person-Centered Approach, and Collaborative Goal Setting.
