Hi there, I'm Sandra!

I am an LCSW and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Congratulations on taking the first step to improving your mental health! Past trauma and challenges of life do not identify who you are as a person. Therapy gives you the opportunity to become aware of your inner strengths to utilize as you navigate the challenges of life.

My focus

My services range from adolescents to geriatrics who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-harm, adjusting to stressors of life, trauma, and substance misuse. Together, we will work through identifying triggers, developing positive coping skills, regulating emotions as well as redirecting negative thoughts and behaviors.

My approach

I use a holistic and client-centered approach. As a client, you are the expert in knowing what is best for you and allowing you to be in control of your life.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have experienced the loss of a parent at a young age, dealt with a partner who struggled with substance use, and I have learned having a system of support while facing stressors of life makes things “bearable.” I have worked in various settings, hospitals, community agencies, school systems, and the Department of Social Services.

My approach to goal setting is to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment while working together to explore your thoughts to create goals that will allow you to heal and grow into a healthier you.

Our first session

During our first session, we will start the process of developing a healthy, therapeutic relationship, as this is the foundation for improving your mental health. I will gather important information from you regarding past experiences. We will discuss your expectations of treatment, concerns and barriers.
