Hi there, I'm Jamie!

I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and suicidal thoughts. Seeking therapy is anxiety-filled, whether it's your first time or bad experiences left you feeling guarded or hopeless. You deserve counseling tailored to you. I practice from the fundamental belief that everyone deserves kindness and compassion.

My focus

I have worked with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, attention-deficit hyperactivity, and psychotic disorders, as well as those struggling with behavioral and emotional distress, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, insomnia, and more.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative with primary influence from Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal Process, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies. I also use trauma-focused interventions, expressive arts, and mindfulness to help you build skills and find relief.

My communication style

We all deserve respect and simply to be heard. I communicate this in each session verbally and nonverbally. Active listening and working together side by side are essential to the therapeutic relationship. Through encouragement and gentle challenging, I will help you reach your goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

From an early age, I knew I wanted to help others. Through life and personal experiences, this desire continued to grow. It was the mixture of wanting to help others and my own experiences in counseling that shaped me to become the counselor I am today.

My goals for you

Goals vary for each person and are measured in different ways. For some, it's seeing anxiety symptoms decrease from daily to twice a week or learning coping skills to decrease suicidal thoughts. For others, it can be learning to set healthy boundaries and effectively communicate needs and wants.

Our first session

The first session is important to learn more about you and see what you are looking for with counseling. After gathering background information and discussing presenting symptoms, we will identify your goals for counseling and answer any questions.
