I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with you as an empathetic partner.

My journey to mental healthcare

I spent the majority of my adulthood working in the medical sector. It was after I was diagnosed with a serious illness and became depressed with no one to talk to, that I decided I would become what I didn't have available to me. Religion taught me to have faith and pray it away. Psychology taught me that I could blend my faith and seek help.

My goals for you

The relationship I foster with my clients is a collaborative one. After initial goals are set by you, the client, we set a pathway to reach those goals. Assessment and reassessment are ongoing; if we need to adjust or make new goals, that is an ongoing process.

Our first session

The first session is a lot of questions and answers, so that I can gain a clear understanding of what brings you into therapy. However, filling out forms in advance aids in fact gathering and shortens the amount of Q & A, so that we can get to the "nitty-gritty".
