Hi there, I'm Vanessa!

I've worked in a variety of settings with a vast array of individuals and couples. Throughout my life, I have been told that I am a "good listener"; I will sit with you and listen to what you want to be heard. I love mental wellness; it is a lifelong practice and journey.

My focus

I am able to work with individuals who need motivation, expression of feelings/emotions, feel lonely in life, are stuck in life, are dealing with anxiety or sadness, or are having relationship troubles. I can sit and listen while offering support, or we can work on tools and techniques to utilize.

My approach

I am here to provide empathy and understanding. I want to hear what you have to say. I want you to be comfortable talking with me, not worrying about judgment or embarrassment.

My communication style

As a provider, I offer empathy, compassion, and understanding. I have worked with children and adults and have come to realize that having someone to talk to can make a world of difference. I accept individuals where they are in life.

My journey to mental healthcare

During graduate school, I took an 'Intro to Psychology' class, and it just clicked. The subject matter came naturally to me, so I took it and ran with it. Several years later, I am still passionate about mental health.

My goals for you

I check in at the start of every session. We can reflect on progression or relapses. The client is the driver of therapy; I am the passenger giving direction.

Our first session

During our first session, we'll build rapport. I will ask about any presenting concerns or what has brought you to therapy. After our first session, I want to give you the freedom to reflect on how comfortable you feel talking to me, and for you to decide the future of your treatment.
