Hi there, I'm Dezirae!

I believe it's important to have healthy self-talk, and CBT will teach you how to identify and reconstruct the way you think. This approach will help with any presenting issue because we cannot control others, only ourselves and the way we respond to things.

My focus

I find that people who struggle with addiction, anger issues, anxious behaviors, depression, family/couples issues, and teens work best with my modalities. I'm willing to see anyone who will put in the work outside of our sessions.

My approach

I know that not everyone wants to be in therapy for a long time, so I feel that teaching a person how to identify presenting issues and using problem-solving skills can help increase your tools to maintain emotional stability. I also guide clients on how to learn to self-regulate so they can manage their emotions better using CBT.

My communication style

I speak lovingly from the hip, and I'm direct with feedback. Most of my clients tell me that they love that I'm kind and honest and that I'm easy to talk to. I'm very down to Earth, because as I tell my clients, you learn just as much about me as I do you.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was a teacher and worked with many teens and families that struggled with many issues. I love helping others, and I feel so rewarded when I can help a person and see the light bulb go off when something clicks.

Since I'm solution-focused, I find that it's important to set goals once they can regulate their emotions properly.

Our first session

In our first session, we will go over some housekeeping things and complete the intake. In addition, I go over our skill sets in the first 4 weeks to help you gain emotional regulation on your own. So, during the 1st session, we will go over a skill set along with your presenting issues that brought you to therapy.
