Hi there, I'm Katina!

I help clients with stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

My focus

I work primarily with adults who struggle with everyday life stressors such as financial concerns, relationship struggles, family issues, medical concerns, job concerns, or other concerns. I also work with those who are feeling depressed, anxious, and who struggle with low self-esteem or body image issues.

My approach

My therapeutic approach changes based on your needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered therapy. I believe our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected. We'll identify underlying thoughts and express feelings, then use cognitive restructuring to replace unhelpful patterns and improve well-being.

My communication style

My communication style involves actively listening, being nonjudgmental, validating, and empathic. I ask open-ended questions to help you explore your thoughts and emotions and gain insight into your behavior. My goal is to establish a relationship built on trust and mutual respect where you feel supported and empowered.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I have always had a desire to help others. I enjoy making a difference by helping people work through the challenges they face. My goal is to see individuals live healthier and happier lives.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is collaborative. I start by asking what brings you to therapy and what your main concerns are. Once we identify your goals, we prioritize them and create smaller short-term goals to accomplish the bigger ones. We review progress regularly to ensure we're moving forward together.

Our first session

During the first session, we go over informed consent and confidentiality. I complete an intake assessment to understand what's concerning you, your history, and your goals for counseling. My goal is to build a good therapeutic relationship that empowers and supports you. I also educate you on my therapeutic approach.
