Hi there, I'm Willie!

I take a client-centered approach to therapy, allowing you to define your goals. I create a safe and warm environment so you can feel comfortable sharing your story. A variety of tools are provided to fit your individual needs, and I assist with decision-making to help you obtain your desired outcomes.

My focus

I work with individual adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I have extensive experience with at-risk adolescents and families in various settings. I also work with adults facing depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, and grief, and with couples on pre-marital and marital concerns.

My approach

My approach is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Therapy, Person-Centered, Family Systems, and Solution-Focused principles. My primary focus is Cognitive Therapy, which emphasizes changing the way you think in an effort to positively impact your emotions and behaviors.

My communication style

I view therapy as an empathic art form. I seek to connect with you where you are and walk with you to your destination through that connection. Clients consistently tell me they feel relaxed, comfortable, and not judged. I create an atmosphere where you can feel safe and connected.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I wanted to become better equipped to help people. I'm motivated by the fact that the only thing separating many people from a fulfilling life is their thinking processes. My goal is to help you think differently so you can reach your true potential and enjoy life to the fullest.

My goals for you

I have an initial and ongoing approach to goal setting. Part of the initial assessment includes asking what your goals are. I also process the results of the assessment and subsequent sessions to address other goals as you see fit.

Our first session

The initial session consists of rapport building and conducting a biopsychosocial assessment. You should expect a warm welcome and the opportunity to share your story. Feel free to ask me any questions anytime during the session.
