My communication style

As a provider, I value an authentic therapeutic relationship over a stale, clinical feel. I am warm and welcoming but can also be directive and gently challenging at times when appropriate for client growth. I have been described by many clients as real and genuine. I clearly communicate insights while also validating my client's own experiences.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey into counseling began with my own family's struggles with mental illness. This led to a desire to learn more about the mind and patterns which contribute to disordered thinking and behaviors. More importantly, I passionately longed to learn how to help foster healing for those facing similar issues in maintaining their mental health.

My goals for you

Though I use a variety of evidence based, experiential, and spiritual interventions to successfully help clients reach their goals, I believe therapy is a journey where clinical expertise is secondary to each individual's unique lived experiences. I often take on a "fellow traveler" mentality when helping clients navigate towards desired change.

Our first session

First sessions with a therapist can often be anxiety provoking and mysterious to a new client. Therefore, I aim to keep a first session structured and goal oriented, but relaxed with plenty of real conversation and genuine humanity as we walk through personal areas of concern, strengths, and expectations that lay out a clear therapeutic blueprint
