Hi there, I'm Jonathan!

I was trained to think systemically, and look at not just you, but how the world around you has influenced you. By default, I focus on relationships and couples work, but I also deal with grief, adjustment, and most things in between.

My focus

I have done everything from intensive in-home counseling with adolescents to being the manager of a Behavioral Health Treatment Court that served adult felony offenders with a severe and persistent mental illness. I welcome teen single parents to senior citizen couples.

My approach

My theoretical framework leans on cognitive behavior therapy, with some influence from Gestalt and experiential.

My communication style

I am an extreme optimist and believe that positives can be found in any situation. I have a genuine love for people and love to see the light bulb pop on when revelation shows up. I have a very straightforward approach to counseling, as I believe that everything that transpires is born out of the relationship that we build.

My journey to mental healthcare

I believe my gifting is exhortation, and I've been a magnet for people in life. I love seeing people encouraged and learning to unlock their superpower.

You are the captain of the ship, and I'm here to assist in any way I can. You tell me the goals that you have, and we will discuss how to break them down into bite-sized pieces. The goal is for you to do better than the day before, and you have the blueprint.

Our first session

You should expect to walk away with a completely new and wonderful perspective on therapy. The first session with me is all about you offloading the things that you have been carrying to this point. You don't need to organize your thoughts, but just dump all the puzzle pieces out of the box, as we prepare for the next steps.
