Hi there, I'm Janina!

I use a person-centered approach to create a safe and trusting space where you will be invited to engage in self-exploration. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you and work through challenges to help you find the healing and understanding you deserve.

My focus

I have worked with clients who have suffered trauma and those who struggle with life transitions, stress, grief, anxiety, and parenting dilemmas. I have a strong background in early childhood development and infant mental health, and have assisted parents and caregivers in navigating this important time.

My approach

I utilize a mixture of evidence-based and somatic-based approaches to therapy. Every person is an individual, so tailoring therapy to the person makes the most sense. I include attachment theory, relation-based and person-based approaches as well as mindfulness and somatic approaches in tailoring what works best for each person.

My communication style

Creating a healthy therapeutic relationship is key to positive shifts and outcomes. I value starting where you are and listening with an ear towards identifying what is most important to you. My goal is to provide you with a safe and trusting experience where you feel comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings.

My journey to mental healthcare

Social work values social justice, the dignity and worth of each person, the importance of human relationships, and integrity. These same values are what I find central in my work as a therapist. I have seen people regain their sense of self, regain balance in their lives, and shift towards positive relationships with those they love and care for.

My goals for you

Goal setting is a collaborative process between us. We will begin where you are comfortable, and while we will set goals together, these will not be a primary focus of our sessions. Goals are more of a backdrop that considers the shifts you would like to see occur through your time in therapy.

Our first session

Our first session together will provide us with an opportunity to get to know each other. We will review documents submitted and explore what brings you to therapy. A good match is essential in the therapeutic relationship, and we will discuss what this looks like for you.
