My communication style

Listening is key. The therapist provides deep listening to the words spoken and the deeper messages of the psyche. Then space is held for the client to learn to tune in and listen to those messages that are calling to be heard. Learning to hear that inner voice can provide an enormous sense of direction as one follows one's inner compass.

My journey to mental healthcare

I did not intend to be a psychotherapist, but as a child, I "knew" that medicine was my calling. Having no male role models, I let go of that dream. In college, I began studying healing modalities from various cultures and eventually took a degree in education.

My goals for you

Each person has a unique trajectory in life. Goals can arise out of listening to how your destiny is calling you. Aligning with this calling is a way of setting goals, the fulfillment of which will support living authentically in relationship to yourself, family and friends, and the world around you.

Our first session

The first session should provide a sense of comfort and safety. It's a time for getting to know each other, establishing parameters of the relationship, and assessing whether we are a good fit. We can dialogue about needs and expectations, and each of us can decide how and whether it is best to proceed.
