Hi there, I'm Shannon!

I have a history of working with clients of all ages and populations, but I have a passion for working with young adults, children, and families.

My focus

I typically work with children, teenagers, young adults, and families, but am open to working with any age. I have a lot of experience with individuals who have been through trauma and have neurodivergent needs.

My approach

I like to support individuals through client-centered approaches with a trauma-informed lens. I also like solution-focused and cognitive behavioral approaches when fitting for the individual I am working with.

My communication style

I like to create a safe and nurturing environment for clients. I want those I support to feel comfortable, safe, and open to share during our time together.

My journey to mental healthcare

I love to meet new people and help others. I really like meeting individuals where they are at, which is why I was driven to the field of clinical social work and became a mental health therapist.

I like to meet clients where they are at and find out their goals, then we can work together to create a plan to work towards achieving those goals.

Our first session

In the first sessions, I like to just get to know folks and see what is bringing them to therapy and what their goals are. I think this is a special time to connect and build a relationship that can be safe, supportive, and therapeutic.
