Hi there, I'm Laurie!

I am a licensed therapist in the state of Utah. I am based in Draper, Utah, and work throughout the state via telehealth. For the past 20 years, my professional focus has been on finding solutions while building resilience in young adults, adults, couples, and families that have been impacted by “real-life” situations.

My focus

I work with young adults, adults, couples, and families who have experienced hardships in their personal lives. The outcome of experiencing difficulties might feel like anxiety, frustration, and growing tensions within yourself and in your relationships.

My approach

I assist individuals with adjustments during challenging times and help them construct a new way of approaching life. My therapeutic approach combines DBT and Solution-Focused therapy to help you envision and reach solutions you might not see on your own.

My communication style

My communication style is casual and grounded in practicality, patience, and purpose. I follow the pace of my clients. Possibly, as our relationship develops and trust is established, we might mutually agree to quicken the pace towards achieving a milestone. My motto is to pace with purpose and to get better results for my clients.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have experienced hardships and achievements, sadness and joy, and disappointment in myself and in others. At one point, I made a commitment that no one should have to figure it out on their own. We all need someone committed to helping us when we are at our most vulnerable.

My goals for you

I work collaboratively with you to establish what a better life might look like and how we get there from here. I believe movement is essential to successful outcomes, so we will always be intentional about our goals and the movements we are making toward them.

The first session might be the moment when you are open to getting the assistance you need to start your change process. With patience, we will explore how you got to this place and how your life might look different moving forward. Trust is critical, so you can ask me questions you need to, so we can move forward with reassurance.
