Hi there, I'm Karen!

My experiences include living on both coasts and the Midwest, one marriage, a son and daughter, working as a Middle School counselor, a psychotherapist to our war veterans, an Adolescent Specialist, a Marriage psychologist, and an all-around Seasoned Professional.

My focus

My ideal client is ready for a change. Knowing that we cannot change other people, only how we choose not to react to them. Learning to unplug from what is toxic and plug into your power. Learning to love ourselves first. Putting our oxygen mask on first.

My approach

Let us begin to unpack all that is weighing on you. Life happens, and we have a choice on how to react or respond to every stimulus. I provide the tools to achieve a healthier, happier, higher-functioning, harmonious life. I am passionate about my profession and honored to be of service.

Compassionate, Empathetic, and Direct. And I use lots of metaphors, which help with understanding.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to helping others from an early age—comforting neighbors, sitting with the crying and injured, listening and offering support. In college, I helped the sick and frightened. My first career was in Advertising, my second was raising my kids. Finally getting on the road to my true calling, I am honored to be of service.

Our first session

I like to begin at the beginning—with your date of birth, where you were born, to whom, siblings, traumas of note, and school experiences. We become acquainted and then dive into the reasons for seeking therapy. We establish Goals of Treatment, provide support and techniques to go forward, and share life.
