Hi there, I'm Jacqueline!

Hello, congratulations on your decision to make your life better! I am dedicated to helping you pursue your goals. I use an eclectic approach to therapy. I am a Christian counselor with 30 years of experience, dealing with a variety of issues. I will work to empower and equip you with the tools you will need to succeed on your therapeutic journey.

My focus

My ideal client is someone who is motivated and goal/insight oriented and capable of looking inward to explore their values, needs, and goals.

My approach

I primarily use cognitive-based therapy and acceptance and commitment theory with tools from Gestalt therapy and mindfulness in a strengths-based approach. I also use a lot of psychoeducation.

My communication style

I practice active listening and reflection in an effort to provide a calm, serene feeling during therapy sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

I obtained a Master's Degree in SW at U of IL. I worked in Social Work and Human Resources in my early career & discovered my first love is Social Work. I was employed as a hospice SW for 18 years, before I decided I wanted to do is therapy. I am happy I made that decision. I find so much joy in seeing individuals grow!

My goals for you

I assist clients in setting realistic goals, with objectives (steps) they can take to meet those goals. I like to quantify objectives /goals, if possible, so that progress toward them can be measured intermittently during care.

Our first session

During the initial session in therapy, my goal is to create a safe place where you feel free to share your thoughts, feelings, and what brought you to therapy. We will also gather information to establish a plan to address your concerns.
