Hi there, I'm Willie!

I work with adults who live with the effects of trauma, HIV disease, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I provide individual counseling focusing on the challenging thoughts that result in emotional disturbances.

My focus

My work focuses on adults, many living with trauma challenges. I work with the LGBTQIA+ community and those living with HIV disease to help mitigate the stigma and other challenges often faced by members of these groups.

My approach

I use a Client-Centered Approach to therapy. I build on the client's strengths and use those strengths as a foundation to develop new coping strategies to help them meet their desired goals.

My communication style

I attempt to create a calm and neutral setting so that clients feel comfortable discussing more difficult and sensitive topics frequently associated with traumatic situations.

My journey to mental healthcare

My interest in mental health began when I volunteered with a local AIDS services organization. I ultimately completed my degree and began working with individuals with trauma, and over time, began observing the overlap in these populations.
