Hi there, I'm James!

Are you looking for a therapy experience that is different from what you see on TV or in movies? Do you dislike the idea of talking to somebody in a suit and tie? I did too. That is why I offer a relaxed, fun, and even a little bit irreverent style of therapy that encourages you to just be you. And I never wear a suit and tie.

My focus

I love working with adults who want to do something about substance use, anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem because when you begin to see changes in yourself, I get to see you be the person you want to be. I believe my role is to help you become the best version of you.

My approach

My therapeutic style is Eclectic. I use several therapy models, including CBT, Solution-Focused, and Strengths-based.

My communication style

Former clients have said my sessions are encouraging, inspirational, "always honest," and they leave each session with a lot of encouragement to keep going.

My journey to mental healthcare

I'm a disabled Veteran in long-term recovery from alcohol and cocaine abuse after years of addiction, homelessness, and mental health issues. I've used mental health services and am personally aware of the stigma that comes with asking for help. I understand that asking for help takes strength, courage, and desire to be your best self.

I believe you are in charge of your therapy. I will work with you to identify what you want to address and how you want to do it.

During your first session, we will complete an assessment and treatment plan as we get to know and become comfortable with each other.
