Hi there, I'm Rekisha!

I work with adult women, and I specialize in emotional trauma and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery. I also treat issues such as depression, anxiety, thought distortions, life transitions, and stress in general.

My focus

I enjoy and have been successful at helping BIPOC women who are struggling with work-life balance, single parenting, interpersonal issues, self-esteem, and navigating romantic relationships. Many times, difficulties in these life domains can cause stress, anxiety, and depression or make preexisting issues worse.

My approach

I utilize treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), however, I tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of each individual I work with to help them get where they want to be in their mental wellness journey.

My communication style

My communication style is relaxed and personable but professional. My clients always share how easy it is to talk to me and how, before meeting with me, they were fearful of seeking help. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space for you to thrive.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a therapist because I have always loved helping people. My friends and family have always come to me to help them solve problems, and I enjoy seeing people thrive and do well.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is that of a partnership. I understand that you are the expert of your own life and know where you want to be. With your lead, we will work together to create an achievable treatment plan that meets the needs you present. As progress is made and your needs change, we will work together to pivot.

Our first session

In our first session, you will be able to share your current challenges and how you have approached those challenges in the past. We will talk about family life and how your family handled stress and challenging situations. We will also explore how you see yourself now and how you would like to see yourself in the future.
