I enjoy helping adults learn about their own emotions and how to manage them, along with making changes in their lives. I especially enjoy helping people navigate the difficult world of dementia and elder care.

I use various approaches, including CBT, DBT, and education, and rely heavily on mindfulness to improve stress. I always take a client-centered approach to help you achieve your best possible outcomes.

I generally use a laid-back communication style while still being thorough. I take pride in being able to communicate complex ideas into simple understanding.

My journey to mental healthcare

It is a long, humorous story of me thinking about what I wanted to do with my life and being wrong every step of the way until I landed where I am now. I enjoy my career as a therapist and would love to share the full story with you.

We often set small, realistic goals that are clear-cut. We talk about strategies to reach those goals, ways to overcome barriers, and celebrate all progress.

Our first session

The initial intake is a lot of history gathering and goal setting. It allows me to get to know you and what we are working on. Earlier sessions are usually filled with educational discussions. This takes the burden off you to completely open up and fill the time. It allows you to ease into therapy at a comfortable pace.
