Hi there, I'm Hyehyun!

I offer mental health counseling to help ease some of your concerns and worries.

My focus

Based on my background and past experiences, I am interested in an experience-based approach to the difficulties of adjusting as an immigrant, domestic violence, sexual assault, and psychological issues related to deteriorating physical health due to old age and chronic illness.

My approach

I mainly use person-centered and solution-focused therapy. However, I have also received training in and applied CBT, DBT, Mindfulness Intervention, and motivational interviewing.

My communication style

I enjoy using conversational methods to guide and help clients discover their own issues. In other words, as a counselor, I like to encourage and work together to find a way forward.

Through my many years of counseling experience and meeting clients, I have experienced satisfaction and reward in understanding various life challenges, applying them appropriately, and helping them, and I have seen them change. I hope you can join me on that path.

The first consultation is about building a relationship. I try to find out if there are any risk factors, but I try to have a comfortable conversation rather than ask for detailed information.
