Hi there, I'm Genevieve!

Let’s be real; the world isn’t at its greatest right now and things seem to be getting worse. It is impacting all of our lives, and I hope to work with you on carving your new path toward a better place within you and around you.

My focus

If you are struggling with who you are or where you fit in this world, I am happy to walk along side of you to figure it all out. I specialize with clients in the LGBTQIA2+ community on numerous issues, as well as folx experiencing psychosis. Depression and anxiety tend to envelop us in these times, and we will figure that out, too.

My approach

I pull from multiple modalities, such as CBT, DBT, and Gestalt, to help you identify patterns, move your unhelpful thoughts to the back, and help you identify areas in your life where you already have power and control. I use humor in my sessions and when appropriate, games or structured activities.

My communication style

My communication style is blunt and straightforward delivered with calm empathy and patience. While I listen you will never be judged or told what to do. I will always ask what you want, what you hope for, and what you need, as you are the you expert.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist began with me tripping and falling into social work school. I’ve always been a people watcher and am fascinated by people’s lack of awareness of their own words and actions. I connect that lack of awareness to strife and discord in people’s lives and I enjoy the process of you figuring out you.

My goals for you

Together we will clarify your goals and work toward them. Shifting goals as you grow is natural and we will always come back to the basics of me inquiring what it is you want out of our sessions.

Our first session

Our first session will be getting to know each other and determining if we are a good fit. Not every therapist is for every client, and I want to make sure when I am working with you, you feel heard, seen, important, and validated. We will discuss what brings you to therapy and how we can use your time well.
