My communication style

To me, good therapy is collaborative, warm, supportive, truthful, and follows a pace most appropriate for you. Some clients appreciate more structure at first, while others need more space to verbally process their thoughts and feelings. Openness and transparency are essential, and I greatly value direct feedback from clients as to what is helpful.

My journey to mental healthcare

Originally, I thought I’d become a neuropsych researcher; becoming a therapist was a big surprise for a naturally introverted person. I greatly enjoy working with people whose paths may also not be what they expected, or who are at a crossroads. I hope to help you discover some of the strengths and parts of yourself you may not have known existed.

My goals for you

As important as the therapy hour is, what is most important is the life you live outside of session. Sessions with me balance processing thoughts and feelings with skill-building. We will build healthy habits and coping skills to alleviate your distress and help you achieve your goals.

Our first session

In our first session, I'll ask you about your history and reasons for starting therapy. You will also be welcome to ask any questions about therapy generally or my background and approach to treatment. Sometimes people begin and know exactly what they want to work on. Others may not, and that is completely fine - we can work on that together.
