Hi there, I'm Joyce!

I am an innately curious person, and I believe that one of the keys to a fulfilling life is balance. Sometimes the mind-body connection gets out of sync, resulting in emotional and/or physical distress. It's not enough to understand why something happens; you have to follow it up with action towards your goals.

My focus

I typically work with young adults aged 18 through older adults.

My approach

My approach is integrative. I tend to tailor my approach based on my client's needs. My skill set includes CBT, EMDR, Cognitive Processing, Acceptance commitment, and solution-focused therapies.

My communication style

I create a peaceful space where you can express yourself without fear and judgment. I encourage you to participate as much as you are comfortable in the beginning. Counseling, much like life, you get out of it what you put in.

My journey to mental healthcare

What attracted me is the same thing that motivates me to be a counselor. We each have gifts and talents to share, and I believe that helping is my gift/talent.

Goal setting is a collaborative process. I am here to guide and support you so we stay on track and can measure your progress. It's okay if we make adjustments along the way.

Our first session

During our first session, we will discuss consent for therapy, address any questions that you may have, and then we will focus on your background information and what you hope to gain from our time together. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know one another better.
